I've just come to the realization that I hate music festivals. They feel slutty and impersonal.
Seeing a band is a bit like sex. It's all sweaty and dark and in a way you get to see each other naked. Lots of wet, messy vibe-exchange. Tiny underground venues are perfect for this. Here, there's a focus. It's a spell and an orgasm. There's love and respect and satisfaction.
But a music festival is like an onslaught of sloppy seconds with people who barely acknowledge your existence. The vibe is spread all over the place and melts into the air. The performance is predetermined and stiff and you're left feeling a little roused but not quite satiated, even after a whole day of bands you'd kill to drag into dark little rooms.
I post so much of this....
Ok kids, sorry i've been absent. So mega busy that its just not snap. With mum in hospital i feel like a house wife...one who gets home at 4am drunk that is. Mucho tired.
God last night was a massive one. I'm a bad bad girl. Wont go into it but it involved pashing a girl (bryces girlfriend) in a fire escape and so on.....
So whats been happening:
- Had all my stuff stolen at Room. Grrrrrrrrrr
- Mums in hospital, seems to be a little subdued but not too bad.
- Dads in hospital too, but only for a few days.
- MacShayne, Sar and i resorted to finding a new place cos Tim wont move the fuck out.
- Valentines Day: Big night with Petri, Tim and Mac at Alisons b'day. Many beautiful purple tulips on my doorstep....awwwwwww
- Went to the night market with Brooke and Ty. It was cool until my lift drove off (deliberately) leaving me to walk home with Waz.
- DJing the Mannix College O week party. Ahhhhhhhh its funny.
- Matts birthday. :)
God i've been going out so much i cant keep up. Basically life is good. Of course it has its ups and downs but that will never change. Kat and Andrews engagement party tomorrow. should be another big one.
Love you jessie, thanks for the call.
Ads you rock. I so agree about the album!
